Kerry Raquel Little began her work in the social justice movement in 1993 in Pullman, Washington working closely with men and women facing sexual assault, domestic violence and diversity issues at the Women’s Resource Center of Washington State University. She studied Political Science at Purdue University and is a graduate of Washington State University. She has taught special topics courses in Women’s Studies, and is certified in non-profit management from Duke University. After serving people at the collegiate level for almost 4 years, she came to the AIDS Service Agency in Raleigh to become a part of their development team. Kerry served for five years as Associate Director for the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina and its Legal Foundation managing finance, fundraising, and operations.
She now serves as Executive Director. “We are very pleased that Kerry joined Shares. We’re excited about the creativity and energy that Kerry’s leadership brings to Shares,” said Mitchell Price, Director of Marketing for Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina. “Her fundraising and finance background, combined with her extensive non-profit management and board development experience, is a welcome enhancement to our organization. She enables us to further develop one of the state’s premier workplace giving federations into a significant powerhouse.” She has raised over $2.5 million dollars over the past 7 years for Shares member agencies, and meeting every objective of the strategic plans that have been set since she first came on board in 2004.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kerry resides in Fuquay-Varina with her husband Walter and their 7-year old daughter, Gabriella. She is excited about what she does and is honored to be a part of the social change movement.
